Ed Hammell passed away in January of 2026.

I (Misty) met Ed when another ministry was discontinuing their sponsorship program and asked our ministry to take over the sponsorships. We agreed but were very sad when only about 6 of the sponsors out of 150 decided to continue sponsoring their child. Ed was one of those who continued.

Over the next several years Ed and I talked, and I shared with him about his sponsored child. He told me that he had been to Uganda about 10 years ago and would love to go back. I invited him to join one of our trips and he committed to going on mission. 

Ed was only able to go on two trips before he passed away but he quickly occupied a place in our hearts and in Uganda. He sponsored 4 more children who needed help and then proceeded to help one that graduated with his university studies to become a lawyer. 

In 2025 Ed joined our board and became part of our decision-making process. 

We only knew Ed in the later part of his life, but we are so grateful for the time we had with him. 

This fund is to honor Ed's work in Uganda and also for the children he was sponsoring. We would love to see them continue their education.  

Ed was always faithful to give into so many projects, his heart was big.

He will truly be missed by so many in the US and in Uganda where he made a big impact for Jesus.
