"The Widow's Jar" is taken from 2 Kings 4:1-7

In the village of Rwentobo, in Western Uganda, we have identified an unusually large number of widows.
Gods heart is for the widow and the orphan and we as a church and body of believers need to care for them as much as God cares.

This fund is to help with immediate needs but also help in practical ways:

-Many widows still need to fetch water every day at the age of 70, 80 and even 90 years old. This is a monumental task. We can relieve this burden by installing a small rain tank and guttering system. 

-Most widows have been left with grandchildren and no means to feed them. Supplying them with chickens is a great way to help ease this daily burden.

-Repairing roofs is also a big request, many widows have unacceptable living conditions with roofs that leak and walls that shake when the wind blows. Small repairs can reuduce this fear of their house falling in on them during the rainy season.

-Many widows expressed a desire to continue gardening, but they lack the energy to begin and maintain a garden. We can help with that initial start-up of planting and then they are able to keep up with the daily weeding and watering. 

-Food is a challenge for all widows as they struggle to feed themselves and the grandchildren, they are left caring for each day. A simple bag of posho can bring hope and encouragement to the whole family. 

There are many practical ways beyond what we have listed here, and we would love to partner with you to care for the least of these. In Uganda, widows are treated as outcast and even taken advantage of by their own children. Some children will sell their mothers land without their permission, sell their houses and dump many grandchildren on them and run away. We would love to have a fund ready to step in when needed and help these ladies in their most difficult time. Here are some suggestions for helping:
